Columbia River Cacao Farm

Fifty-five acres of established cacao and mixed agroforest near San Pedro Columbia in Toledo, the district that grows some of the most sought-after fine-flavour cacao in the world. Twenty-two acres are mature, producing cacao under shade canopy, interplanted with plantain, coffee, and hardwoods; the balance is riverside broadleaf forest with a swimming hole on the Columbia River branch.

The farm sells its wet beans to established local buyers and has relationships with craft-chocolate makers who visit annually. A palm-thatch farm building, a solar dryer, and a fermentation station are included, along with a caretaker family living nearby who would welcome continued employment.
