Getting Here: Flights to Belize

One of Belize's quiet advantages is how easy it is to reach. For property owners who split time between countries, the flight math matters — and here it works strongly in your favour.

The international gateway

Nearly all international traffic lands at Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), just outside Belize City. It is a small, fast airport: you can realistically be from wheels-down to a domestic connection or rental car inside forty-five minutes.

Direct from the US and beyond

Major US carriers fly nonstop to Belize from hubs including Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, Charlotte, Denver, and Newark, with more seasonal routes in the winter high season. Flight times run roughly two hours from Houston or Miami and four to five from the northeast. There is also scheduled service from Canada in season, and regional connections through Mexico and Central America.

The island hop

From the international airport, Tropic Air and Maya Island Air run short domestic hops — about fifteen minutes to San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, and quick links to Placencia, Dangriga, and Punta Gorda. The water-taxi fleet out of Belize City is the budget-friendly alternative to the northern cayes. Either way, you can leave a US hub at breakfast and be on your own verandah by mid-afternoon.

Practical notes

US, Canadian, UK, and EU citizens need only a valid passport for stays up to 30 days, extendable in-country. The departure tax is bundled into most airline tickets these days. And if you are flying in for viewings, tell us your dates early — we will build the showing schedule around your flights, including the domestic legs.
